Will the ceremony and reception be in the same place?
Yes! Everything will take place at Embers in downtown Alexandria.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony and reception are both indoors, but there may be opportunities to step outside for photos or fresh air.
What should I wear?
A warm early fall vibe, so feel free to keep it polished but comfy!
"Elevated Casual" or cocktail attire is strongly encouraged. Think flowy dresses, jumpsuits, or slacks and dress shirts. Jackets and ties are totally optional.
If you prefer something a bit more casual, no worries. We ask for no jeans and just keep it neat.
One small favor: please avoid bold floral prints, we've got that covered!
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We kindly ask that guests keep phones and cameras away during the ceremony so our photographers can do their thing and everyone can stay present. Plus, we don't want our ceremony pictures shared before we get to! Not to mention all the cellphones up in pictures that may not be able to be edited out.
Feel free to snap photos during the reception! Those are free game.
Can I bring a date/plus one?
Please refer to your invitation for details. If a plus one was included, they’ll be listed by name or noted as “& Guest.” If there is not a plus one included, we are not able to accommodate any additional guest beyond those invited due to venue restrictions.
Are kids invited?
We ask that if children are disruptive during the ceremony or special moments that they step away and have a chance to be calmed, and hopefully not feel so overwhelmed. We want everyone to enjoy their time.
We do also want you to be aware that there will be music and drinking during the reception, as this is an adult-centric event. All children need to be attended by an adult.
Food and drinks are on us, so if the kids stay at home, feel free to let loose.
What if I can't make it?
You’ll be missed! Please RSVP on the website by August 1st, and feel free to leave us a note! We’d still love to hear from you.
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive by 3:30pm so you can be seated before the ceremony begins. Doors will open at 3:00pm, and the ceremony will start promptly at 4:00pm.
Will food and drinks be served?
Yes! Dinner will be served during the reception. There will be an open wine and beer bar and signature cocktails as well as non-alcoholic beverages available.
Do I need to bring anything?
Just your lovely self! No gifts needed at the ceremony. (If you’re giving a gift, see the registry info on our site.) If you would like to join us for the money dance, bring some cash for the honeymoon fund!
Where should I park?
There are nearby parking lots downtown as well as street parking. We recommend the small lot on the corner of Jackson and 4th.
Is the venue handicap accessible?
The venue has a slight step at the main entrance, but a ramp is available at a separate entrance if needed.
If you or a guest needs assistance or special accommodations, please let us know in advance so we can help.
Is there a hotel block?
There is not a booked hotel block, as there is not a large number of attendees that are traveling to the area.
If you need any help finding accommodations, please reach out! We've linked the Holiday Inn and Hotel Bentley that are located downtown as a recommendation under our "Travel" tab.
